Stupid idea! First of all, it would be energy hungry. it would use up batteries, and thus eat resources, or be rechargeable, and eat up the environment with emmissions from power stations needed to recharge it. theoretically it would work, but the harder the rain, the more energy would be needed to keep the rain off. The chances are that it would not be as effective as an ordinary umbrella, and would be heavier and much more expensive, and of course when it ran out of power, you get wet. The idea of reinventing something we already have is to make it BETTER!

Of course the idea is stupid!
Instead of air, one should be using Sulpher Hexafluoride. SF6 is denser than air and will have a greater ability to deflect the rain. The use of air for this purpose is simply dumb.
Wait a minute… maybe Radon is better than SF6.

You can’t beat a nice long coat with a hat. No battery issues, or having to lug a small tank of compressed Sulphur Hexafluoride.
